I have never seen this picture before but found it on Ancestry.com. Thanks to Cody Ryan Johnson for sharing. Can anyone comment on it. Here are Codys comments
“Hi Shaun. Yes, I am related to Jesse Nathaniel Smith. He is my Great-Great-Great-Grandfather through his daughter Eliza Snow Smith. To answer your other email the picture of Jesse N. Smith (Young) version is a closeup of Jesse in his wedding suit when he was married. As he was married at a very young age he looks to be not much more than 18 years old. It was taken circa 1852 when he was married. I am willing to chat with you as well”
Its so striking of a picture and I didn’t think at first it looked like Grandpa Jesse but Seraphine’s resemblance is uncanny. With help, I would like to track down the original if anyone has any information.
DOES ANYONE HAVE COMMENTS ON THIS PICTURE (YES SOMEONE DID AND HER IT IS)
FROM CLAUDIA SMITH YOUNG
Claudia Smith Young – “This is the wedding picture of Samuel Francis Smith and Lula Jane Hatch, April 5, 1900. I had a copy and turned it over to the Church Family History Library a year ago along with the Emma Seraphine West journals that are now posed on the Jesse N. Smith web site. Samuel was the youngest son of Emma Seraphine West and Jesse N. Smith. He became the Snowflake Stake President after the death of his father.”
